Ava Lyonne Kincaid is an 18-year-old collegiate volleyball player at New Mexico Junior College and a proud resident of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Playing at the college level has pushed her to grow as an athlete, a student, and a leader. She is pursuing her degree in Business Administration and was named to the All-Academic First Team, which is a recognition of her hard work and dedication in the classroom. As the second oldest of seven children, Ava has always embraced responsibility and developed a passion for being a role model to those around her. Growing up in a state where many young people face limited opportunities and low education attainment rates, she witnessed firsthand how difficult it can be for youth to believe in their potential. Determined to change that, she created Project Open Doors, a nonprofit that provides opportunities, mentorship, and encouragement for kids who need it most. This past summer, she partnered with the Boys and Girls Club to introduce high-yield learning programs and host a free volleyball club, allowing children not only to learn but also to dream bigger. Off the court, Ava enjoys playing the viola, exploring new cultures, and spending time with friends and family. She lives by the values of kindness, dedication, and authenticity, and hopes to continue inspiring youth to rise above challenges and embrace their own bright futures.
